Carolina Splendor (Pot. Waikiki Splendor x Blc. Oconee) has large wine-red flowers, fully ruffled dark burgundy lips, and superb shape and form. Virginia Dickey (Slc. Pink Doll x Sl. Pole-Star) is a darling mini-Catt. Plants flower twice a year in 3” pots and have sturdy stems holding 2-3 bright red flowers of superior form. My gut is telling me this is going to be a good cross. These will bloom in rich reds, to deep-dark-oxblood reds, with 4 to 6 flowers held above the foliage, in addition we expect the plants size will be about 10” tall. This is a modern “Standard Cattleya type flower” from a compact plant habit.
