Cattleya Dubiosa 'Scully' HCC/AOS x Laelia alaorii f alba 'Snowflakes'

I have been very impressed by the flower longevity of hybrids made with Dubiosa (C. trianae x C. loddigesii). In many cases they’ve lasted 6-9 weeks! Dubiosa’s 5-8 flowers are well-displayed and almost white with a hint of lavender evident in the lip. The L. alaorii is a miniature species with plants barely 3” tall and flowers not quite 2” across, ‘Snowflakes’ is all white except for a small spot of purple deep in the throat. L. alaorii has made some nice hybrids, and that is what we are hoping for here. The expectation is for 6-7” tall plants with soft pink flowers, but some might be white with ruffled lips. Short stems should carry 3-4 blooms with good flower life.
